Monkapaws was created with the desire to create and offer an alternative edgy style and retro flair to typewriter key jewelry and whimsical collage altered art style jewelry.  The end product is chic and quite a conversation starter.  Each piece created is an individual work of art and seems to tell its own personal story (boy, if only they could talk).

This nostalgic piece of history will be appreciated and enjoyed for a lifetime.

photo of Judy Fejeran  Lisa Pelgrim

All of Lisa's clothes are 100% cotton, boutique quality and made in sweat shop free studios. Our tag line is "made for babies, NOT by them" and we only use suppliers that do not use child labor. While 90% of our items are made in downtown LA, even the pieces that are made elsewhere are made by companies that meet and exceed fair labor standards AND local labor laws.

The dyes we use for silk screening are formaldehyde free and completely safe for babies ... even if (when) they chew on it.

photo of Liz Utter  Liz Utter

Liz Utter was inspired at a very your age by her great aunt who lived in Ripon and a family friend in Stockton.  Watching them can peaches and make Apricot Jam was always a highlight when she visited them.  Liz started making her own preserves in high school.  She SOLD her first jar of jam totally by mistake.  Once the first jar was sold, more people started  asking to buy it… and the rest is history.  In recent years, Liz’s preserves have won MANY ribbons in the Santa Clara and San Mateo county fairs.

In 2009 she won, 1st prize for Apricot Habanero Sauce as well as Cherry Jam, 2nd place for Blueberry Jam, third place for Fresno Pepper Jelly, and BEST of SHOW for Apricot Habanero Sauce.
